Game was lengthy - over 6 hours at a very relaxed pace. If you must consult a W/T, I strongly recommend BF's - it gives better directions and is more specific for those occasions you are hopelessly lost. An interactive map would be very helpful because you are going from portal to portal and it is easy to get lost, even though there are only a few scenes in each portal. Whereas Rabbit Hole and Ripple Effect had about 3 scenes open at one time, Oracles has quite a few portals open at once, each with several scenes. More than half of this game is adventure and, instead of helping historical figures affected by time ripples (although they do make cameo appearances), the emphasis is on helping Jesse save her family. So far a few HO's were repeated but since they are so few and far between I did not mind.Īnother Winner Overview of gameplay: Only about 20% of the game bears a resemblance to the gameplay of the Rabbit Hole and the Ripple Effect. Overall I thought this was a very carefully constructed game that kept you going at the same pace, no mid game sections of boring inactivity or doing the same HO's over and over. I dislike being hand held, (ie I click on a window and lo it says oh this window is stuck you must look for some oil and a chisel.).The hints here really were hints and did not take away from the work you have to do as the player. I only really want a small hint to get me out of a stuck situation. I get irritated with being shown exactly what to do where. I did often have to get hints because of getting lost especially if I returned to the game after a logish break, but this game did not treat me like an idiot with only 6 brain cells. The characters, when they appeared, were appallingly badly drawn but I could easily overlook this because the game had me moving forwards at such a compulsive pace. I liked the storyline, trying to restore stability in time. I have now become thoroughly bored with finding peppers fans kings etc.

I am hoping the other games in the series are as involved.Īnd there are not too many HO scenes. This game is the same I play onwards and wish it would never end. It is like reading a book and you say ok I will go to sleep at the end of the next chapter but you cannot stop reading through the night. The combination of puzzles, finding objects in each scene, some of which are hidden, the nipping in and out of different times has me hooked. Am Addicted My house is in disarray, I eat off my lap, I LOVE this game.
